This secondary analysis of the Endovascular Therapy Following Imaging Evaluation for Ischemic Stroke 3 trial evaluates whether the imaging-based selection criteria used in the trial would lead to comparable outcome rates and treatment benefits in transfer vs direct-admission patients with ischemic stroke.

We describe a new method to induce focal brain damage targeting the motor cortex to study damage to the descending motor tracts in the non-human primate. Stereotaxic injection of malonate into the primary motor cortex produced a focal lesion in middle-aged marmosets (Callithrix jacchus). In this study, we evaluated the inflammatory reactions induced by acute ischemia and found that pyroptosis occurred after acute ischemia bothin vivo andin vitro, as determined by interleukin-1 β, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein, and caspase-1. This study delves into the mechanisms by which a short period of fasting can accelerate wound healing. ConclusionOur study estimated the number of stroke patients undergoing CTA for suspected LVO and those eligible for thrombectomy in relation to the population. Numbers were essentially the same throughout the week, and during office and on-call hours. Our data can be used to make adequate staffing plans.
