Ross Greene, PhD, delivers our community of parents, pediatric psychiatrists, and psychologists another well-written and engaging volume of wisdom in his book, Raising Human Beings. The title is intriguing and, in its simplicity, captures the challenges and the importance of effective parenting. The book provides guidance on how to listen to our children and elicit information from them. Dr.  Greene believes that perspective taking is critical to effective functioning as a family system. In addition, he emphasizes that having reasonable expectations in the context of a child’s unique abilities and limitations is requisite to solving problems.
