The present study aimed at investigating whether single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and haplotype of angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) could influence blood pressure and the susceptibility to hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).Subjects and methodsA total of 647 patients (347 females and 300 males) with newly diagnosed mi...

In conclusion, the study demonstrated that the IRE1α-XBP1 pathway is involved in the process of hypoxia-induced pulmonary vascular remodeling; 4u8c could restrain hypoxia-induced cell proliferation and migration and reverse the hypoxia-induced apoptosis arrest, while quercetin excited excessive ERS and the IRE1α pathway in hypoxic PASMCs and promoted apoptosis. Our data suggest that intervening the IRE1α-XBP1 pathway may be useful for hypoxia-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension therapy. PMID: 30899368 [PubMed]

This study defines a new clinically relevant concept of T-cell senescence-mediated inflammatory responses in the pathophysiology of abnormal glucose homeostasis. We also found that T-cell senescence is associated with systemic inflammation and alters hepatic glucose homeostasis. The rational modulation of T-cell senescence would be a promising avenue for the treatment or prevention of diabetes. Authors: Han C, Xian Z, Zou Y, Liao Z, Yang R, Zou C, Wang X, Sun Y Abstract Introduction: The aim of the study was to evaluate whether flow-mediated dilation (FMD) can be used to predict incident hypertension in patients with hyperuricemia. Material and methods: Normotensive participants with and without hyperuricemia at baseline were prospectively enrolled. Flow-mediated dilation was assessed at baseline, and after 1 year's follow-up the incidence of hypertension was compared between those with and without hyperuricemia. The predictive value of baseline FMD for incident hypertension among hyperuricemia patien...

Authors: Dai S, Huang B, Zou Y, Liu Y Abstract Introduction: Dyslipidemia combined with hypertension increases the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The current study aimed to investigate the association of dipping and non-dipping hypertension with CVD in patients with dyslipidemia. Material and methods: A total of 243 documented dyslipidemia patients with hypertension were enrolled. Clinical characteristics and clinic and 24-hour blood pressure (BP) parameters were compared between dipping and non-dipping groups based on 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Logistic regression analysis was perform...

ConclusionsSAUL confirms the tolerability of atezolizumab in a real-world pretreated population with urinary tract carcinoma. Efficacy overall and in the IMvigor211-like subgroup is consistent with previous pivotal anti-PD-L1/PD-1 urothelial carcinoma trials. These results support the use of atezolizumab in urinary tract carcinoma, including patients with limited treatment options.Patient summaryIn this international study we investigated the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab treatment for advanced urinary tract cancer in a large population of pretreated patients, including those who would not normally be candidates for ...
