Systemic lupus erythematosus is a risk factor for cancer: a nationwide population-based study in Korea.

CONCLUSIONS: Systemic lupus erythematosus might be an independent risk factor for cancer. Therefore, the importance of cancer screening programs should be emphasized in systemic lupus erythematosus patients.
