Professional athlete, 18, nearly bled to death after swallowing a TOOTHPICK

A man was taken to hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, when he suffered abdominal pain, a fever of more than 40 °C (104°F) and diarrhoea with blood in it – doctors found a 5cm (2ins) toothpick.
