HHS: Administrative Simplification: Modification of the Requirements for the Use of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) D.0 Standard

Notice of proposed rule from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to adopt a modification to the requirements for retail pharmacy tranactions related to Schedule II drugs. This change to the Telecommunication Standard Implementation Guide, Version D, Release 0 (Version D.0), August 2007, National Council for Prescription Drug Programs will require covered entities to use the Quantity Prescribed field in order to clearly distinguish whether a prescription is a partial fill, or a refill. Comments on this proposed rule are due by April 1, 2019.
