Clinically diagnosed primary transitional cell carcinoma of the colon: a case report
ConclusionTo the best of our knowledge, this is the first literature report of TCC that originated in the colon. TCC that primarily occurs in the colon may rapidly progress, as in the case presented. Therefore, it is necessary to establish more appropriate treatment for similar cases.
Authors: McCarthy AJ, O'Reilly SM, Shanley J, Geraghty R, Ryan EJ, Cullen G, Sheahan K Abstract Background: As the malignant potential of sessile serrated lesions/polyps (SSL/Ps) and traditional serrated adenomas (TSAs) has been clearly demonstrated, it is important that serrated polyps are identified and correctly classified histologically. Aim: Our aim was to characterize the clinicopathological features of a series of SSL/Ps &TSAs, to assess the accuracy of the pathological diagnosis, the incidence, and the rate of dysplasia in SSL/Ps &TSAs. Methods: We identified all colorectal serrated polyps b...

AA-2βG protected hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death in murine macr...
Abstract The expression of the transcription factor FOXA1 is associated with the prognosis of estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer, and the genetic variant rs4442975 can affect FOXA1 function. Therefore, we investigated the association between rs4442975 and the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for luminal A type breast cancer and evaluated its toxic side effects in a Chinese population. One hundred seventy-five patients with luminal A type breast cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy with a combination protocol of epirubicin and docetaxel (ET protocol) were enrolled in the study. Genotyping was pe...
Conclusion: this study suggested that NUDT21, GNB1, CLINT1, and COL1A2 might be the core genes for colon cancer that play an important role in the development and prognosis of IIA stage colon cancer. PMID: 30881993 [PubMed - in process]
ConclusionA solitary cerebellum metastasis from primary gastric adenocarcinoma is a very rare presentation. Early detection of metastatic lesion and successful treatment is challenging.
ConclusionsCRT was the only predictive factor for longer survival in LC patients; however, no LC-IP patients received CRT, possibly because of the underlying IP.
Conclusion: The advantages of endoscopic resections; short hospitalization, low complication rates, patient comfort, and doesn't require the general anesthesia. For endoscopic resection, we think that the second endoscope shortens the duration of the procedure, reduces the complication rate, and increases the comfort of the endoscopist.
