Use of modified rapid cholera test during surveillance for oral cholera vaccine effectiveness in Nampula, Mozambique, 2016
Purpose: The detection, confirmation and monitoring of cholera outbreaks in many developing countries, including Mozambique, is a major challenge due to the lack of resources needed and the time required for confirmation. Culture method, which is the gold standard, requires 48 to 72hours, qualified laboratory personnel and expensive reagents.
