In this study, we provide a qualitative assessment of focus group responses, with an emphasis on the relevance of the guide to infection prevention and surveillance decision support for emerging infectious diseases.

CONCLUSIONS: The EIDAR Research Area is responsive to military-relevant infectious disease threats that are also frequently global public health concerns. Several new EIDAR efforts are underway that will provide Combatant Command Surgeons, Infectious Diseases Service Chiefs, and other Force Health Protection stakeholders with epidemiological information to mitigate the impact of EIDs and antimicrobial resistance on the health of U.S. military service members and their dependents. In this study, we evaluated ATA as a potential antiviral drug against ZIKV replication. The antiviral activity of ATA against ZIKV replication in vitro showed median inhibitory concentrations (IC50) of 13.87 ± 1.09 μM and 33.33 ± 1.13 μM in Vero and A549 cells, respectively; without showing any cytotoxic effect in both cell lines (median cytotoxic concentration (CC50)> 1,000 μM). Purpose: The West African Ebola outbreak and Zika virus outbreak in the Americas were both initially reported as undiagnosed disease events, underscoring the importance of monitoring and detecting early reports of undiagnosed diseases. Purpose: Epidemics rank among the most costly and destructive of natural hazards. In the past few years outbreaks such as Ebola, Zika, MERS and SARS demonstrated the limited preparedness to respond swiftly and appropriate. This highlight the need to develop more proactive instead of reactive policies Existing frameworks for epidemic response are either disease specific, category specific or nonspecific national models, but so far no model exist that combine all elements.
