Pharma rep pleads guilty to health-care fraud

A pharmaceutical sales representative from Clarence faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for health-care fraud. Scott Trapp, a therapy specialist with Sunovion Pharma, pleaded guilty Jan. 28 before U.S. District Judge Lawrence Vilardo to conspiracy to commit health-care fraud for his role in the distribution of $5.8 million in prescriptions.  According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Trapp worked as a ph armaceutical sales rep for various companies since 1996.
