Unedited microneurosurgery of a pineal region ependymoma.

Conclusion: This unedited video offers all detailed aspects that a neurosurgeon as the senior author JH considers essential when performing an efficient and safe surgery into the pineal region for this very rarely documented pineal region ependymoma. ConclusionsTotal knee arthroplasty has good outcome with respect to clinical as well as functional outcome in haemophilic arthropathy. Although the results and outcome of total knee arthroplasty in haemophilic knee arthropathy may still be inferior to the results seen in a normal individual, a multidisciplinary approach yields a better functional and quality of living in such haemophilic patients.

Authors: Longoni S, Tinto M, Pacifico C, Sartori M, Andreano A Abstract PURPOSE: There is uncertainty in the literature on whether the presence of keratinized tissue (KT) ameliorates the state of peri-implant tissue health. A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to synthesize evidence on the association between peri-implant keratinization, defined as adequate (≥ 2 mm) or inadequate (0 to 2 mm), and peri-implant health and stability, measured as tissue inflammation, plaque accumulation, tendency to bleeding, and probing depth (PD). MATERIALS AND METHODS: This systematic review adhered to the Pref...

This study aimed to compare the thickness and elasticity of the masseter muscle between patients with gingivitis and patients with periodontitis. A total of 124 patients (63 gingivitis, 61 chronic periodontitis) were recruited at the start of the study, but only 84 patients were declared as final participants. Patients were divided into two groups: (1) patients suffering from gingivitis and (2) those with generalized chronic periodontitis. Clinical (PI, plaque index; GI, gingival index; PD, probing depth; CAL, clinical attachment loss; and BOP, bleeding on probing scores) and ultrasonographic (thickness and elasticity of t...

ConclusionsIn unselected ACS patients, ADIR and ADBR occurred at similar rates within 1 year after PCI. ADIR was greater than ADBR in the first 2 weeks, especially in STEMI patients and those with incomplete revascularization. In the first year ADIR was higher than ADBR in patients with incomplete revascularization, while ADBR was higher in NSTE-ACS patients and in those discharged on ticagrelor.

The objective of the study was to assess the levels of neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM 1) and interleukin-10 and their association with disease severity in bipolar disorder. 40 bipolar disorder I patients with acute manic symptoms and 40 age matched controls were enrolled in the study. Neural cell adhesion molecule 1 and interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels were assessed in both the groups. NCAM 1 and interleukin-10 levels were significantly increased in bipolar disorder when compared with controls. There was significant positive correlation of Young Mania Rating score with NCAM 1 (r = 0.538, p =
