Evers , Deb Johnson-Shelton The paper provides a commentary on Woods and Nelson׳s article “An evaluation of distance estimation and accuracy and its relationship to transportation Mode for the home-to-school journey by adolescents.” We elaborate on two points related to the main finding of the article: the importance of understanding perceived barriers within the neighborhood environment, and the role of cognitive and skills development in encouraging active transport amongst children and adolescents.
