Characteristics and Precipitating Circumstances of Suicide Among Incarcerated Youth

Studies show incarcerated youth are at an increased risk for suicidal behavior, yet little is known about factors associated with suicide for this population. Using a nationally representative sample, this study examines characteristics and precipitating circumstances of suicide among incarcerated youth decedents relative to youth suicide decedents in the general population.
