School performance in childhood leukemia survivors

The progress in treating childhood leukemia over the last 50 years represents a remarkable success story. Once universally fatal, some subgroups of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia now have cure rates exceeding 90%. However, as survival improves, the burden presented by the long-term physical and cognitive sequalae of leukemia and its treatment have become more problematic.
