Jackson, Mississippi's Oldest Paramedic Still Working at Age 76

  JACKSON, Miss (WJTV) - A Jackson first responder has gathered many years under his belt serving others and now more than half-way through his 70’s he’s still on the job. One of the last places many would expect a 76 year old would be is responding to 911 calls, but for paramedic Jim Richardson, the clock has not run out when it comes to serving the community. “I’m well past retirement age,” Richardson said. “I’ve wondered people are retiring and wondering well what am I going to do and this would be a good fit for a lot of people.” And that’s the attitude Richardson has kept for decades since he began working as a volunteer fireman back in 1986, which soon turned into a career in the medical field working his way through AMR.
