Femoroacetabular impingement - Update 2019.

CONCLUSION: For the diagnosis of FAI typical clinical and imaging findings are required. Radiological diagnostics are an indispensable component in establishing the diagnosis of FAI, in the differentiation of the underlying deformities and in the assessment of treatment-relevant joint damage. Conclusions: Both WBRT and SRS are appropriate for the treatment of BM in patients with ALK-rearranged NSCLC. The incidence of BM in the hippocampus and peri-hippocampus region is low in our radiological data. Nearly 80% of patients with metachronous BM have oligo-metastatic lesions, indicating that SRS is the preferred therapy while PCI is not indicated.

Conclusion: The 3D finite element model based on 3D finite element software was highly efficient, and its numerical simulation was accurate, which was important for the subsequent biomechanical analysis of PVCR orthopaedy. In addition, the vertebral stress of PVCR orthopaedy was different in each body part, which was mainly affected by the applied orthodontic force and the sites of the orthodontic area.

Publication date: Available online 11 December 2019Source: Orthopaedics &Traumatology: Surgery &ResearchAuthor(s): Joong-Bae Seo, Sung-Joon Kim, Hee Jung Ham, Kwon Young Kwak, Jaesung YooAbstractBackgroundThe pathogenesis of degenerative subscapularis (SC) tear is not clear, several mechanisms are involved: intrinsic tendon degeneration or subcoracoid impingement. The aim of this study was to propose new radiographic markers, the coraco-lesser tuberosity angle (CLA), lesser tuberosity angle (LTA) and lesser tuberosity height (LTH). The hypothesis was that higher values of CLA, LTA, and LTH would be associated with ...

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide evidence-based recommendations to practicing clinicians on radiographic imaging and biomarker surveillance strategies after definitive curative-intent therapy in patients with stage I-III non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and SCLC. METHODS: ASCO convened an Expert Panel of medical oncology, thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, pulmonary, radiology, primary care, and advocacy experts to conduct a literature search, which included systematic reviews, meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials, and prospective and retrospective comparative observational studies published from 2000...

ConclusionsThe limited currently available evidence shows potential of certain MRI settings for the use in operative dentistry. Further research needs to assess the applicability and accuracy for dental hard tissues as well as cost-benefit aspects of the MRI technique.Clinical relevanceCertain MRI settings may have the potential as diagnostic tool in operative dentistry.

n P Abstract Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a heterogeneous multifactorial disease with musculoskeletal involvement, which can be manifested as monoarthritis, oligoarthritis or polyarthritis and in some patients can also affect the axial skeleton. The most frequent indications of inflammation are bone marrow edema and enthesitis. The early and differential diagnosis of PsA is a clinical challenge, particularly as a differential diagnosis from other inflammatory or degenerative diseases of joints. Inflammatory joint and tendon alterations in the region of the extremities and the spine can be visualized with high sens...

Abstract To summarize, the currently available imaging procedures have various possibilities to visualize or sometimes to predict the osteogenesis pathognomonic for axial spondylarthritis (axSpA). The individual imaging techniques of X‑rays, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) all have strengths and weaknesses in the diagnostics of axSpA. The generally easily available X‑ray imaging rapidly provides information on the condition of large sections of the skeleton. In particular, it can depict the chronic stages with various structural alterations of the sacroiliac joint and syndesmophyt...

Mini The surgical results of modified and traditional open-door laminoplasties were retrospectively compared. There were no differences in neurological outcomes and postoperative complications. However, compared with traditional laminoplasty, modified laminoplasty was associated with better maintenance of cervical curvature and ROM, as well as a lower incidence of postoperative axial symptoms. Study Design. A retrospective comparative study. Objective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of modified unilateral open-door laminoplasty with posterior muscle-ligament complex preservation in treating cerv...
