[Impact of cardiovascular risk factors in the Extremadura population: HERMEX cohort contributions for a preventive strategy].

CONCLUSIONS: Hypertension confers the greatest burden of cardiovascular disease in the population of Extremadura, followed by hypercholesterolemia and smoking. These RF are priority objectives for a population-based preventive strategy.
