To investigate whether sarcopenia affects the prognosis in patients with neuroblastoma, Kawakubo et  al.1 conducted retrospective trial in which participants were evaluated according to the skeletal muscle mass. Kawakubo et al. reported that wasting in the skeletal muscle mass was suggested to be a significant prognostic factor for high-risk neuroblastoma. We found the current results to be part icularly important because sarcopenia, presented as a new geriatric assessment factor, is a strong and independent risk factor for the postoperative complications of elderly patients with gastric cancer.
