Protein deficiency after gastric bypass: the role of common limb length in revision surgery
Bariatric surgery is an effective treatment for patients with morbid obesity and results in sustained weight loss [1,2]. However, the numbers of non-responders to surgical treatment and late complications have also increased with the growing number of bariatric procedures and the increase in follow-up duration [3]. Among various bariatric procedures, gastric bypass is one of the commonly performed mal-absorptive procedures, with sustained long-term weight loss and a high rate of resolution of co-morbidities [1 –4].
