Nearly half of those with food allergies developed them as adults

Many Americans who think they have food allergies don ’t. Ten percent of U.S. adults think they have a food allergy, but only about one in five actually does, according to research conducted by Dr. Ruchi Gupta of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Ann& Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
