Deficiency of Bmal1 disrupts the diurnal rhythm of haemostasis.

CONCLUSION: Bmal1 deficiency affected the biphasic rhythm of coagulation and fibrinolysis factors predominantly in the liver. In the brain, Bmal1-dependent control of t-PA gene expression was documented for the first time. PMID: 30610898 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of date vinegar made from date pulp and pits on the serum lipid profile and inflammatory biomarkers of mildly hypercholesterolemic adults. Seventy-six subjects with mildly raised total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol were enrolled. Participants ingested 30 mL of either date vinegar or placebo daily together with their normal diets. Plasma lipids, inflammatory biomarkers, carotenoids, potassium, folic acid, urea and creatinine were measured at baseline after 4 weeks and after treatment. These results suggest that the date vinegar improved several serum lipid pr...

ConclusionsPBS gives good target coverage and local control while providing reductions in radiation dose to OARs for individuals who receive RT for HL compared with advanced photon RT. Our findings highlight groups of patients who would be expected to gain more dosimetric benefit from PBS. These findings facilitate the selection of patients who should be considered a priority for PT.

Abstract The soil-transmitted helminths (STHs), Ascaris lumbricoides, hookworm and Trichuris trichiura are common in areas with warm and moist climates with little access to adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene affecting the poorest populations. The current control strategy of the World Health Organization is preventive chemotherapy (PC), i.e., the administration of the two benzimidazoles (albendazole and mebendazole) using single, oral doses to at risk populations without prior diagnosis. The recent success of PC is threatened by anthelmintic drug resistance and the low efficacy of the drugs against hookw...

t P Abstract Opisthorchis viverrini infection is widely prevalent in Southeast Asia. In Cambodia information on this helminth infection is scare. Recent reports suggest that O. viverrini is an emerging public health problem. We aimed to synthesize all information in relation to the infection, epidemiology, and morbidity of O. viverrini in Cambodia; from published as well as thus far unpublished sources. First reports on O. viverrini date back to 1995. In 2006 an O. viverrini initiative was launched by the national helminth control program. Since then O. viverrini has been reported in all - except two - provinces. ...
