A Combined Utilization of Plasdone-S630 and HPMCAS-HF in Ziprasidone Hydrochloride Solid Dispersion by Hot-Melt Extrusion to Enhance the Oral Bioavailability and No Food Effect. AAPS PharmSciTech. 2019 Jan 02;20(1):37 Authors: Xue X, Chen G, Xu X, Wang J, Wang J, Ren L Abstract The purpose of this study was to research a novel combination of Plasdone-S630 and HPMCAS-HF as hot-melt carrier used in ziprasidone hydrochloride for enhanced oral bioavailability and dismissed food effect. Ziprasidone hydrochloride solid dispersion (ZH-SD) was prepared by hot-melt extrusion technique, and its optimized formulation was selected by the central composite design (CCD), which was characterized for powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), in vitro dissolution study, and stability study. Finally, the in vivo study in fasted/fed state was carried out in beagle dogs. Based on PXRD analysis, HME technique successfully dispersed ziprasidone with a low crystallinity hydrochloride form in the polymers. According to the analysis of FTIR, hydrogen bonds were formed between drug and polymers during the process of HME. Without any noticeable bulk, crystalline could be found from the micrograph of ZH-SD when analyzed the result of scanning electron microscope (SEM). Pharmacokinetics studies indicated that the bioavailability of ZH-SD formulation had no significant difference in fasted and fed state, and the Cmax and AUC of ZH-SD were two&nb...

Authors: Khairnar H, Ingle M, Chauhan S, Pipalia N, Sawant P, Pandey V, Shukla A Abstract Introduction: Computed Tomography of abdomen frequently shows bowel wall thickening with different grades and characteristic of thickening. The correlation of bowel wall thickening (BWT) with endoscopic findings is not well described in Indian population. Therefore we did this study to determine the correlation of BWT with endoscopic findings. Methods: Its Prospective single center study with 85 Consecutive patients with age group more than 12 years with CT scan abdomen showing bowel wall thickening were included in the st...

The preparation method includes reduction of deposited graphene oxide (GO) on the Glassy Carbon Electrode (GCE), and reduction of deposited CuCl2-PdCl2 on reduced graphene oxide. Both reduction steps are performed using 2% aqueous Zn/HCl solution. During the second step, palladium-copper bimetallic nanonetwork was creat...

Abstract The use of dogs as animal model for human atopic dermatitis (AD) is well known. Striking similarities in the pathogenesis of AD have been demonstrated. Similar alteration of host defense peptides (HDP) have been identified in both species. However, the ultrastructural/molecular alterations associated with HDPs secretion in AD have not been elucidated. We were able to use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the secretion of HDP in canine skin. The contemporary use of indirect immunofluorescence, ELISA and scanning immune-electron microscopy gave fundamental insights in the pathomechanism of HDP alt...

In this study, we identified a novel antibacterial peptide, RIVELTLPRVSVRL-NH2 (named CF-14), derived from the epidermal mucus of catfish and characterized its antimicrobial activity. Analysis of antimicrobial activity and hemolytic activity of CF-14 revealed broad spectrum, high levels of antimicrobial activity and low toxicity to eukaryotic cells. CF-14 remained stable at pH values ranging from 4.0 to 12.0 and remained bioactive when exposed to high temperature. CD analysis indicated that CF-14 forms a random coil in PBS buffer and an α-helical conformation in the membrane-mimetic 2.5% SDS micelle. Additionally, th...

BuenoAbstractNanocomposite polymer membranes based on PVA/TiO2 were prepared by a solution casting method. Glutaraldehyde solution (GA) was used as linking agent to improve the chemical, thermal and physical properties of the membranes. The degree of cross-linking was varied by changing the reaction time. The phase behavior of the membranes was examined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). High resolution SEM micrographs show that the TiO2 nanoparticle...
