Incidence of Brain Metastasis in Lung Adenocarcinoma at Initial Diagnosis on the Basis of Stage and Genetic Alterations
Brain metastasis (BM) is common in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality [1 –3]. Since approximately 10–20% of patients with NSCLC present with BM at initial presentation and these patients often have no symptoms [1,4,5], routine BM screening is important for the appropriate diagnosis and management of NSCLC patients. However, there is still considerable controversy reg arding routine BM screening in patients with NSCLC.
