Challenging the supremacy of intravenous antibiotics

This editorial notes that although the risks of IV administration are well described, a perception of greater potency and mythical qualities of IV antibiotics may prevent prompt switching to oral route. The authors say there is need to balance actual benefit of IV route against the known risks.
