Laparoscopic management of Non-Puerperal Uterine Inversion

Nonpuerperal inversion accounts for only 16% of the cases. Non puerperal uterine inversions uterus are mostly associated with a submucous fibroid. 38 year old woman having submucous fibroid presented with severe lower abdominal pain, acute retention of urine and hypotension. The diagnosis of inversion uterus could be made with help of MRI as clinical examination was inconclusive due to severe pain and USG picture was also dubious. Successful laparoscopic hysterectomy was contemplated after correcting uterine inversion. This case highlights the diagnostic dilemmas and the key points during laparoscopic management of uterine inversion.
