CONCLUSION: The current study indicates that knee muscle strength variables, resulting from an isokinetic testing, have the potential to discriminate between soccer players with and without a history of low back pain. However, low back pain is a multidimensional phenomenon and knee muscle strength or imbalance alone cannot be expected to explain low back pain. PMID: 31524139 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions. Because GAP score correlated with Oswestry Disability Index and increased proximal junctional angle 2 years after surgery, GAP score might define targets for sagittal spinopelvic alignment for favorable outcomes of corrective spinal surgery. A large preoperative global tilt is a potential predictor of poor postoperative GAP score. Level of Evidence: 3

The objective of the present study was to compare the long-term incidence of reoperation for lumbar herniated intervertebral disc disease (HIVD) after major surgical techniques (open discectomy, OD; laminectomy; percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy, PELD; fusion). Summary of Background Data. HIVD is a major spinal affliction; if the disease is intractable, surgery is recommended. Considering both the aging of patients and the chronicity of lumbar degenerative disease, the effect of surgical treatment for the lumbar spine should be durable for as long as possible. Methods. The National Health Insurance Service-Na...

Conclusion. This review provides evidence that while NDI scores improved across all devices, there was no significant difference in NDI improvement or C2–7 Cobb angle change between single level traditional ACDF, stand-alone ACDF, or TDR. Although TDR has not been considered a lordosis producing operation, our investigation shows it does not differ significantly in sagittal profile from other cervical fusion techniques. Moreover, we show that the NDI score improved, regardless of device implanted. Level of Evidence: 1

Rosenbaum J Abstract PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is a serious and fairly frequent disorder with prevalence increasing with age which often results in a disability. The surgical procedures are often very risky due to the greater age of patients with severe stenosis and their comorbidities. The study aimed to assess the functional outcomes and complications in patients who underwent surgical treatment for LSS at one year postoperatively and to identify the differences in the functional outcomes, if any, in dependence on the number of operated segments. MATERIAL AND METHODS It was a prospective ...
