Cyclical hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, and related hormonal reaction

A 16-year-old girl presented with recurring cyclical erythematous pruritic persistent rash that had vesicles at times, lip swelling, dizziness, tingling and burning on face and lips, hands tingling, and chest tightness for the past 2 years. The symptoms typically began 2 to 3 days before the onset of her menstrual cycle and continue into the cycle for 3 to 4 days before dissipating. However, because of the irregular nature of her cycles, which were treated with an oral estrogen-progestogen contraceptive pill, she sometimes noticed the onset of symptoms 1 or 2 days after the onset of her flow.
