Transformational and Transactional Leadership in Healthcare Seen Through the Lens of Pediatrics

From an increasing reliance on telehealth and precision medicine to a continually expanding use of artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary teams, pediatricians must be able to create a clear goal for their teams and units and motivate their followers and colleagues to pursue this goal. Furthermore, pediatricians and pediatric specialists must be able to capitalize on their personal strengths to effectively engage in both transformational and transactional leadership behaviors as the situation necessitates.
