Biotech firm lands $1M to develop cancer treatment

Biotech company GeneSegues Therapeutics has landed $1 million from the federal government to fund development a cancer treatment. The Chaska-based company won the award from the National Cancer Institute through the government's small business innovative research program. GeneSegues is developing technology that uses tiny capsules to deliver DNA-based drugs to tumors. The company eventually aims to treat head, neck, prostate and other cancers.
