Pfizer's cut-price version of Avastin wins EU panel greenlight
A panel of European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Friday recommended approval for Pfizer Inc's Zirabev, a cheaper version to Roche Holding AG's leading cancer drug Avastin.
Conclusions: Mechanical ventilation leads to down-regulation of R-spondin1. R-spondin1 may enhance the interaction of leucine-rich repeat containing G-protein coupled receptor 5 and apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53 2, thus inactivating p53-mediated proapoptotic pathway in cyclic stretched mouse lung vascular endothelial cells. R-spondin1 may have clinical benefit in alleviating mechanical ventilator-induced lung injury.

However, at non-lethal doses, cancer cells can choose to remain proliferative or become senescent. The slow development of senescence makes studying this decision challenging. Here, by analyzing single-cell p21 dynamics before, during, and days after drug treatment, we link three distinct patterns of early p21 dynamics to final cell fate. Surprisingly, while high p21 expression is classically associated with senescence, we find the opposite at early ti...
This study could be beneficial for: (i) Clinicians to receive second opinion from the CAD system for early diagnosis, and (ii) Researchers to analyze and enhance the existing state-of-art techniques used in CAD system, which may further reduce the gap of variability between intra and inter observer.Graphical abstract

Mice with Treg cell-restricted Neuropilin 1 deficiency show tumor resistance while maintaining peripheral immune homeostasis, thereby providing a controlled system to interrogate the impact of intratumoral Treg cells on the TME. Using this and other genetic models, we showed that Treg cells shaped the transcriptional landscape across multiple tumor-infi...

Such CD8 T cells have been found in other chronic infections and also in cancer in mice and humans. These CD8 T cells exhibit stem-like properties undergoing self-renewal an...

The differentially expressed lncRNAs were identified between 15 CRC tissues and 15 adjacent normal tissues by Arraystar lncRNA microarrays
Conclusions: H. pylori screening for the adults 50 years of age and older could be cost-effective compared to UGI and endoscopy in high prevalence countries. The main reasons for the superiority of H. pylori screening are that an H. pylori antibody test has a higher sensitivity and specificity than UGI and endoscopy and the benefits to reduce gastric cancer incidence and mortality.
