Nutrisystem sold in $1.3B deal

Weight-management system company Nutrisystem Inc. will be bought by Tennessee-based Tivity Health Inc. in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $1.3 billion. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter. Tivity plans to maintain all of Nutrisystem’s existing brands as well as the company’s Fort Washington, Penn., office.
