We report a case where the heart was the predominantly affected organ. Cardiac involvement usually manifests with nonspecific ST-T changes in ECG. Here we report a case presented with ECG finding mimicking acute anteroseptal myocardial infarction which is extremely rare. PMID: 31317722 [PubMed - in process]

We report a 22 year old male who was admitted to our hospital with alleged history of consumption of monocrotophos poison and had presented with chest pain. His electrocardiogram (ECG) had showed ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and troponins were elevated. He also had low cholinesterase levels and was treated with pralidoxime and atropine and his condition improved. Cardiac catheterization showed patent coronaries. Acute coronary syndrome is a rare manifestation of organophosphorus compound (OPC) poisoning. The current case and subsequent review of literature tells us the need for close cardiac monitoring of all...

hBM ‐MSC‐derived EV injections repaired the ultrastructural damage caused by Cd for apical and basolateral membranes and mitochondria of kidney proximal tubules, glomerular podocytes in female and male medaka. AbstractTreatment modalities for kidney disease caused by long ‐term exposure to heavy metals, such as cadmium (Cd), are limited. Often, chronic, long‐term environmental exposure to heavy metal is not recognized in the early stages; therefore, chelation therapy is not an effective option. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from stem cells have been demons trated to reduce disease pathology in both...

AbstractIsland populations are rarely studied for risk of arsenic (As) poisoning. As poisoning, multimetal contamination and people ’s perceptions of health risks were assessed on India’s Majuli Island, the largest inhabited river island in the world. This holistic approach illustrated the association of groundwater contamination status with consequent health risk by measuring levels of inorganic arsenic (iAs) in groundwater , borehole sediment and biological samples (hair, nails and urine). Piper and Gibbs’s plots discerned the underlying hydrogeochemical processes in the aquifer. Demographic data and qu...

l M Abstract In palladium-catalysed methoxycarbonylation of technical propyne, the presence of propadiene poisons the hemilabile Pd(P,N) catalyst. According to density functional theory calculations (B3PW91-D3/PCM level), a highly stable π-allyl intermediate is the reason for this catalyst poisoning. Predicted regioselectivities suggest that at least 11% of propadiene should yield this allyl intermediate, where the reaction gets stalled under the turnover conditions due to an insurmountable methanolysis barrier of 25.8 kcal mol-1. Results obtained for different ligands and substrates are consistent with the ava...
