Current status of esophageal endoscopy including the evaluation of smoking and alcohol consumption in Japan: an analysis based on the Japan endoscopy database
ConclusionsThe new strategy for esophageal endoscopy has led to an evolutionary change in Japan. The patients with esophageal cancer and head and neck cancer who underwent a second or subsequent endoscopy had lower incidences of smoking and alcohol consumption, although the incidences remained high.
