Patterns of recent alcohol consumption by race among a sample of urban men who have sex with men
Introduction: Research in the general population consistently finds that non-Hispanic blacks report lower levels of alcohol use, hazardous use, and are at lower risk of alcohol use disorder than non-Hispanic whites. However, racial/ethnic patterns of hazardous alcohol use may differ among men who have sex with men (MSM). There is a gap in our knowledge about racial differences in patterns of alcohol use, hazardous drinking, and alcohol-related problems among MSM.
