Report from the 5th International Fascia Research Congress, Berlin, Germany.

Following the successful conclusion of the 5th International Fascia Research Congress (IFRC) it is apt to say that the study of anatomy generally, and fascia specifically, is similar to looking out of the window of an aircraft at several thousand feet. Fascia anatomy is about scale and perspective. With current technological advances we can focus our attention on the terrain in question to see details not possible from a distance. Fascia anatomy, however, offers no assurance that the terrain being viewed from above is the final destination; for as soon as one appears to reach terra firma, new technology such as probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) provides the ability to look beyond that ground, diving further down that rabbit hole, so to speak.
