Wave propagation characteristics in nanoporous metal foam nanobeams

Three nanoporosity distribution models, namely, symmetry, asymmetry and uniform distributions, are taken into account. The nonlocal elasticity theory together with the Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam theories is used to model the present system. The wave dispersion relations for nanoporous metal foam nanobeams are derived detailedly. In addition, studies are carried out to scrutinize the effects of the nanoporosity coefficient, the nanoporosity distribution, the nonlocal parameter and the beam thickness on wave propagation characteristics in nanoporous metal foam nanobeams. These findings can be applied to the design of nanoporous metal foam nanostructures in engineering fields.
