Engagement and collaboration: Working to advance the HRS vision

The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) vision “to end death and suffering due to heart rhythm disorders” is bold in stance and global in scope. Scientific advances and improvements in care delivery have provided us with better tools to treat potentially serious conditions such as atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac arrest. However, world wide demographic, economic, and lifestyle trends have resulted in an increase in both the prevalence and the incidence of heart rhythm disorders. Accordingly, to reach our audacious goal, we will need to engage committed individuals and collaborate with other organizations, with a focus on science, education, care delivery, and advocacy.
