In the present study, we assessed extensively the relationship in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). METHODS: The values of brachial FMD and carotid ultrasonography findings in 159 patients (67±8 yr, 130 males) with angiog...

In this study, we set different probability thresholds to test the performance of U-Net for the clot detection and selected sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC) as the metrics of performance evaluation. Furthermore, we investigated the relationship between the clot burden assessed by the Qanadli score, Mastora score, and other imaging parameters on CTPA and the clot burden calculated by the DL-CNN model.ResultsThere was no statistically significant difference in AUCs with the different probability thresholds. When the probability threshold for segmentation was 0.1, the sensitivity and specificity of U-N...

Conclusions: PsR before EVAR reduced endovascular procedure time, and our results indicate that it might improve technical success, but further studies are needed to confirm those results. PMID: 32057277 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Akkemik O, Kazaz H, Tamsel S, Dündar N, Sahinalp S, Ellidokuz H Abstract OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of digital panoramic radiograph (DPR) for detection of carotid artery calcification (CAC) confirmed by Doppler Ultrasonography (DUSG) and to clarify the relationship between between CAC identified by DPR and cardiovascular events through a 5 year follow-up period. METHODS: Of 3600 consecutive patients examined, 158 patients presented with CAC as detected by DPR. The final study group was composed of 96 patients who had CAC confirmed by DUSG or CT angiogram. The control gro...

Conclusions: PCV in Congolese patients showed features that are more similar to those observed in Caucasians. In this setting where indocyanine green angiography is not available, OCT facilitates the diagnosis of PCV. PMID: 32051763 [PubMed]

ConclusionImaging of luminal morphology and calcification within the same angiographic procedure allows for a plain and simple estimation of the degree and distribution of brain aneurysm wall calcification with limited amount of additional radiation dosage.

Abstract Evaluation and management of acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding focus on etiologies originating distally to the ligament of Treitz. Diverticular disease is the most common source, accounting for 40% of cases. Hemorrhoids, angiodysplasia, infectious colitis, and inflammatory bowel disease are other common sources. Initial evaluation should focus on obtaining the patient's history and performing a physical examination, including evaluation of hemodynamic status. Subsequent evaluation should be based on the suspected etiology. Most patients should undergo colonoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic purpose...

Myocardial extracellular volume fraction (ECV) derived from CT delayed enhancement (CTDE) may allow assessment of diffuse myocardial fibrosis. However, the amount of contrast medium required for ECV estimation has not been established. Since ECV estimation by CT is typically performed in combination with coronary CT angiography (CCTA) in clinical settings, we aimed to investigate whether reliable ECV estimation is possible using the contrast dose optimized for CCTA without additional contrast administration.

AbstractAimTo evaluate the effect of acute anaerobic exercise on macular perfusion measured by swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) in young football players.Materials and methodsFootball players with ages between 18 and 20  years were included into the study. After a detailed ophthalmological examination, physiological parameters including height (cm), body weight (kg), body fat percentage (%), systemic blood pressure (BP) (mmHg), hematocrit values (%), oxygen saturation pO2 (%) and heart rate (bpm) were recorded. Intraocular pressure (IOP) (mmHg) and SS-OCTA using DRI OCT Triton (Topcon, T...
