Omalizumab management beyond clinical trials: The added value of a network model
Conclusion Our retrospective analysis represents a preliminary report from the NEONet activity. It confirmed omalizumab efficacy and provided some new insights about its impact on lung function and on comorbid rhinitis. The network approach, under a prospective view, allows creating a large uniform database, by means of a standardized shared tool for data collecting, and joining a multidisciplinary expertise.

Conclusions: Variation in the NAT1 gene modifies asthma risk in children exposed to secondhand-smoke. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a gene-environment interaction between NAT1 variants, smoke exposure, cotinine levels, and pediatric asthma. We examined our primary care birth cohort of 158,510 pediatric patients, of whom 214 patients met 2017 FPIES diagnostic criteria. We measured the influence of FPIES on developing subsequent atopic disease.ResultsPediatric FPIES incidence was between 0.17% and 0.42% depending on birth year. As in prior reports, most patients had an acute presentation (78%), and milk, soy, oat, rice, potato, and egg were common triggers. The mean age of diagnosis was 6.8 months. We examined 3,917 children (age 4 ‐13 years) who were enrolled in a cross‐sectional study conducted in Seongnam, Korea. Their parents completed the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ) for evaluation of OSAS and the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) questionnaire for evaluation of rhinitis.
