Fissure analisys with StratX software and Chartis system for bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) with valves

Conclusions: Our retrospective study confirms that fissures with FCS<80% or FCS>95% could be CV+ or CV- respectively thus excluding or indicating valve implant in the adjacent lobe without further investigations. If 80%<FCS<95% patients should undergo Chartis assessment before being considered for or excluded from BLVR with valves. It’s encouraging that the results observed in our study are similar to those of the retrospective by Koster. Widespread clinical use of StratX can be recommended for fissure assessment, however, a prospective trial is needed before patients can be excluded from valve treatment on the basis of Stratx analysis alone.
