Increased IL5, IL8 and eosinophils in induced sputum of asthmatics with accelerated FEV1 decline

Conclusion: We showed that increased sputum IL5, IL8 and eosinophils are risk factors for accelerated FEV1 decline in controlled asthma patients, which are treated with standard asthma control medicines. Those observations suggest that in some of those patients additionally target therapies might be needed.
