The effect of inhaled lung volume on ventilation heterogeneity in CF using 3He MRI
Conclusion: The ventilation MRI metrics VDP and CV decrease at TLC and correlate with LCI and FEV1. Reversible ventilation defects identified by deep inspiration may correspond to slow-ventilation regions during MBW. Using fixed inhaled bag volumes for ventilation MRI may lead to underestimation of ventilation defects in smaller subjects.
