Club cell secretory protein: a key mediator in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

Conclusions: Our findings highlight a previously unidentified role for CC16 in protection against a common asthma-exacerbating agent, Mp. We further discovered that in the absence of CC16, persistence of Mp infection and the associated inflammation may drive airways remodeling.
