Factors associated with testing of COPD patients for serum AAT levels to detect cases of AATD. The EPOCONSUL study.
Conclusion: Despite current recommendations AAT blood level testing is infrequent in our cohort of COPD patients treated at outpatient respiratory clinics. Nevertheless, the associated factors are consistent with the clinical characteristics that have been classically attributed to AATD-related COPD. This could reflect suspected AATD in a patient with a "typical" profile, thus a selective case search is done.Supported by SEPAR and Boehringer Ingelheim
