S100A12 ‐induced sterile inflammatory activation of human coronary artery endothelial cells is driven by monocyte‐derived interleukin 1β: implications for Kawasaki disease pathology

ConclusionS100A12 as a highly expressed mediator of sterile inflammation in KD can activate coronary artery endothelial cells in an IL ‐1β‐dependent manner. Our data provide new mechanistic insights on the contribution of S100A12 and IL‐1β in disease pathogenesis and support current IL‐1 targeting studies in KD.This article is protected by copyright.
