Oxygen saturation targeting in extremely preterm infants —more progress needed

In a recent Medical Progress article Stenson and Saugstad discuss guidelines for oxygen saturation targeting published in 2016 by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Committee on Fetus and Newborn.1 As co-authors of those guidelines, we believe their commentary misstates important points and may mislead the reader. The goal of this letter is to correct these inaccuracies.
