Transforming Perianesthesia Clinical Practice Through Dissemination and Implementation Science

PERIANESTHESIA NURSES (PNS) who seek to base clinical practice on the best available evidence understand the basic principles of evidence-based practice (EBP) and the importance of the scientific rigor. In addition, PNs know how to appraise the type, level, and quality of evidence. This crucial EBP appraisal process is a strategic underpinning to identify the soundest evidence to use and more importantly translate to clinical practice at the bedside. Patient care is ultimately advanced through the adoption of the EBP scientific findings into clinical practice guidelines.
