The role of EUS-guided fine needle aspiration in autoimmune pancreatitis: a single center prospective study.
CONCLUSIONS: In 92.6% of patients, pancreatic tissues with >5 HPFs were obtained by EUS-FNA using a 22-G needle. In 63% of patients, histology was evaluated to be ≥ level 2 according to the ICDC. The study indicates that EUS-FNA with a 22-G needle is valuable in the histopathological diagnosis of AIP.
