New concussion recommendations for kids

(Washington University in St. Louis) The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has updated its concussion recommendations to support children and teens engaging in light physical activity and returning to school as they recover. The report, revised for the first time in eight years, also advises against complete removal of electronic devices. Mark Halstead, MD, an associate professor of pediatrics and of orthopedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine, was the lead author of the AAP report.
