Serum biochemical reference values of Kyrgyz donkeys ( Equus asinus )
AbstractThe aim of the study was to determine the some serum biochemical values of Kyrgyz donkeys and present the reference values. Fifty (50) healthy donkeys in different ages (6 –24 months, 2–15 years, and> 15 years old) and gender (male and female) were clinically examined and blood samples were taken. Serum triglycerides (TG), creatine phosphokinase (CPK), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total bilirubin (TBil), total protein (TP), al bumin (Alb), creatinine (Creat), urea (Urea), amylase (Amy), lipase (Lip), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), phosphorus (P), cholesterol (Chol), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), glucose (Glu), very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density li poprotein (HDL), and indirect bilirubin (InBil) values were determined. Serum Ca values were found different (P
Authors: Ponticelli C, Arnaboldi L, Moroni G, Corsini A Abstract Introduction: Lipid disorders are frequent after kidney transplantation (KT) and KT recipients are considered at high- or very-high cardiovascular risk. Among many concurring factors, a major role is played by immunosuppressants.Areas covered: General measures to manage lipid disorders first include physical activity and diet counseling. Modulating the doses of immunosuppressants also improves dyslipidemia. When lipid-lowering drugs are necessary to control elevated plasma cholesterol and/or triglycerides, statins are the cornerstone for managing hype...
In conclusion, these results demonstrate that supplementation with N2-NBW potentially alleviates the development of obesity in HFD fed mice.Graphical abstractSupplementation with N2-NBW effectively alleviated the obesity-associated markers in the high-fat diet fed mice.
ConclusionFenugreek supplementation improved lipid parameters in adults. However, to confirm these results, more studies, particularly among hyperlipidemic patients, are needed.Graphical abstract
CONCLUSIONS: Variables significantly predictive of MetS were age, male gender, African-American ethnicity, BMI, and lycopene intake. PMID: 32067763 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
One of the most important things to understand about heart health is that a woman ’s needs change over time. Risk factors for heart disease like high blood pressure and high cholesterol can become more important as a woman ages. Hypertension and high cholesterol are not things we may feel. This is why hypertension is called […]Find jobs at Careers by KevinMD.com. Search thousands of physician, PA, NP, and CRNA jobs now. Learn more.
In this study, we first analyzed the chemical compounds of AG by HPLC-DAD-ESI-IT-TOF-MS n . Of the 31 compounds detected, 29 were identified based on previous results. Then, the effects of DMY and AG on high-fat diet hamster livers were studied and the metabolite levels and metabolic pathway activity of the liver were explored by 1H NMR metabolomics. Compared to the high-fat diet group, supplementation of AG and DMY attenuated the high-fat-induced increase in body weight, liver lipid deposition, serum triglycerides and total cholesterol levels, and normalized endogenous metabolite concentrations. PCA and PLS-DA score plots...
Conclusion: The study shows that the metabolomic method may be a valuable tool for studying the essence of toxicity induced by traditional Chinese medicine. PMID: 32071608 [PubMed]

The sample was systematically characterized through various techniques and its strong biomolecule‒metal interface structure was supported by the results. ...
